  1. Requirements :

First, we need to grab the necessary tools to play games on our phones :
    • Android Phone : Surprise Yes, you heard me right , you need a phone running at least Android 2.2 so you can run this emulator.
You can check your android version by going to " Settings >> About device >> Android Version ".
    • ePSXe : Then we need to install the emulator on our android devices, here is the link of the app on android app store : ePSXe. It’s isn’t free though Money Eyes  but it’s worth it.
    • Any Emulator BIOS : This is my precious app Tongue, we will need it to generate a file called BIOS which is necessary to run the PlayStation games, here is the link for the app : Any Emulator BIOS, it’s free by the way Dont tell anyone.
Time out “a what?? a BIOS?? what the heck is a BIOS file??”
Nerd “ BIOS - that is the shortcut for Basic Input/Output System : that's there the name comes from! You can think of a BIOS as a set of instructions to jump start the Emulator .Without it, you will not be able to play the games.”
Chatterbox“Enough with the BLAA BLAA BLAA!! ME WANNA PLAY!!Angry
    • Any Emulator Game : the last thing to do is getting the games, well the proper name is ROMS. How to get them?? we will need to install Any Emulator Game that will help us find them, here is the link for the app Any Emulator Game . Here is also a small quick tutorial that will show how to use it Getting Roms with Any Emulator Game.

Time out “ Once you got the games (ROM File) make sure  it’s isn’t an archive file (archive file name ends with .7Z or .RAR or .ZIP), if that’s the case, you need to extract the ROM file first, here is a small tutorial about extracting ROM files How to extract ROM files
  2. Generating the BIOS file :

After installing the app Any Emulator BIOS, launch the app from the home screen :

    ePSXe

Select PlayStation 1 Bios from the list then press browse :

    ePSXe

Now we choose where to generate the BIOS file, I chose the folder download (it’s the same place where i put the game file, so I don’t have to look in a different places later Winking) :

    ePSXe

After specifying where to generate the BIOS file, click “Generate Bios Files” :

    ePSXe

Once done, use a file browser to verify that the BIOS files where successfully generated, a folder called PlayStation 1 BIOS should be created

    ePSXe

within it, we can find the BIOS file : SCPH1001.BIN

    ePSXe

That wasn’t hard I guess Whew, now we can proceed to the next step.

  3. Configuring the emulator & running the games :

At this point, we have the bios file and the ROM file (game), for my case it’s crashBandicoot.bin located under /storage/sdcard0/download (this path may vary with the phone type or the android version).

Now we need to install the emulator and launch it :

    ePSXe

    Click “Preferences Button” :

    ePSXe

Click the “Bios file” entry in the preferences, this app will try to search the bios file for it self, if it couldn’t locate it, you can browse to the folder where we saved the bios file earlier and select it :

    ePSXe
    ePSXe

now back to the emulator home screen, and click “run game” button :

    ePSXe

the app will try to search the games stored in your phone storage (it will take some time so be patient)

    ePSXe

Once the scan is over, the app will the games found, just click on one of  them to start it :

    ePSXe

You can also select the game manually by clicking browse files button and browse to the folder where the games are saved :

    ePSXe

and select the game file to start it :

    ePSXe

    ePSXe

    ePSXe

And that’s it Dancing, now you can enjoy playing your old PlayStation games on your phone. This was my first tutorial i hope it was clear, see you again in another tutorial and please don’t forget Dohto rate our app Any Emulator BIOS.
